About

Myself, Joe Sheehan, at Fast Prep, like most coatings/flooring contractors, started grinding concrete on our hands and knees, a truly arguous task. When I began my coatings company, I was equipped with a 7 inch hand grinder, dust shroud and Home Depot vacuum. As my demands increased, I invested into a 7 inch stand-up edge grinder with a CDC Larue vacuum. After that under-met my needs, I purchased a two-head rental store type machine. Soon after that purchase, I moved up to a high speed single head grinder.  When that unit became inadequate, I invested into a single speed planetary grinder. After that planetary, in pursuit of something bigger, faster and stronger, I obtained a variable speed planetary grinder/polisher. Up the ladder I went to a two-head, large heavy horsepower grinder followed by the purchase of a variable speed heavy two head grinder. With tens of thousands invested in equipment that didn’t deliver my needs, I knew something had to change.

After buying and using all of these machines and their tooling, one thing was common amongst them all: They were all far too slow. Maybe on a good day with perfect conditions we could get up to 200 sq/ft per hour.

The solution for us was clear, the Fast Prep 1000 grinder/polisher in all conditions, gave me a predictable 500-1000 sq/ft of production per hour which successfully cut our prep, and labor time by excess of 60+%. For the first time, I can actually predict and anticipate at what part of the day we begin coating. And that is why I choose to put my trust into the Fast Prep grinder/polisher.
